VINTAGE RARE 1/2 MOON EAGLE BUTTER PRESS STAMP hand carved

  
This is a lovely Rare Vintage Half-Moon Eagle Butter Press Stamp in Great Vintage Condition. The Eagle is beautifully and deeply hand carved and its rarity is that not only is it a hard to find eagle design, but that the mold is a much sought after half-round shape. The design was inspired by an Early American butter press. The overall pattern includes a star on each side of the eagle's head and an incised ring encircling the eagle.

The handle is nicely contoured and rounded at the end with 3 partially incised decorative rings near the middle. The half-round face of the mold measures 3-3/8" x 7" and it is 3/4" thick, and face down the mold stands 4 3/4" high to the tip of the handle. The mold is in great vintage condition with no chips, but it has a natural old wood "crack" on the top area as pictured and handle is not fully flushed.
