Absolutely gorgeous, very unusual and unique design by Neil Baker, a member of the Squamish First Nation and a large family of First Nations artists. This piece is fully hand carved and hand painted on red cedar, designed and signed by Neil Baker.
Beautiful red cedar - so very detailed, clean cut-out, highest quality craftsmanship - powerful expression. Neil put a lot of work into his pieces - the carving is truly excellent, made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger attached, carved in front, signed at the back.
Measurements: 25" x 8" x 1/2. The artist: Neil Baker is a band member of the Squamish First Nation Reserve in British Columbia. He is from the Coast Salish blood line.
Neil is a self taught carver and artist. Neil has learned a great deal about his culture by listening to his elders, then applying that knowledge to the carvings he creates.
