Eagle Alebrije Hand Painted Carving Oaxacan Folk Art Oaxaca Mexico

  

This beautifully detailed eagle is approximately 7 1/4" tall and 4 1/4" long. The outside of the wings have dimensional ridged carving. This great piece would be a wonderful gift or addition to any collection. Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination".

They are hand-carved and hand-painted of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel regularly to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces.
