Bill Kilby, a very talented carver and painter, was born on April 6, 1978 in the small town of. He is a member of Batchewana First Nations of Ojibways. S West Coast, which influenced his art. He is specializing in traditional carved and painted native wood carvings, drum making, solid wood custom furniture design and construction as well as the crafting of high quality cedar and alder boxes. He was obviously born with great talent and began carving when he was very young.
He studied and practiced his art within his family which has a long history of traditional native carvers and woodworkers. He credits his aunts, uncles and grandfather for their guidance, knowledge and teachings.He worked with recognized carver Karl Morgan on an 11' Totem Pole which is now erected in the Tsawassen ferry terminal. Bill's art work is very sought after.
