Antique Hand Carved Wooden Eagle Expanding Book Rack Bookends Wood Holder

  
A great early wooden expanding book rack. Looks to be all hand carved, the pattern on the slide is not factory made, each divot is unique. Very nice work done on the eagle, both carved so they both can face out. The base is about 23-1/2 by 8-1/2. The distance between ends starts at about 21-1/2" and expands to about 39-1/2". There is some finish wear overall, there is a slight chip on the arch above one eagle. The stop for the slide looks to be either a replacement or an add-on. Expect minor evidence of use or imperfections, dings etc. We take many photos of our items to assist with the description.
