Antique Hand Carved Swiss Black Forest Bracket or Clock Shelf, Eagle and Hare. The width of the shelf is 11 1/4 on this superbly crafted hunt theme Swiss work of carver's art. The 2 figures set against a woodland surrounding include an eagle and the rabbit or hare it is about to take into its beak. Hollowed from the backside so it won't be quite so heavy to hang, it's a fine display shelf to hold others of your Black Forest collection, or a clock, blue and white porcelain vase or platter - you'll have the perfect way to put it to use.

Full measurements are noted on the photos. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, typically in these 19th century carvings there are more losses. I can draw your attention to the straight grain chip at the fold of the wing to left of screen when you're looking at it straight on. I've marked the chip with "x" so you can review. Surprisingly, it seems not to distract from the full beauty of the eagle. The top shelf has a couple of imperfections, also marked and shown for your full review. Hardware is tight and ready to hang this one.
