Antique French Hand Carved Oak Wood Wall Coat Hat Rack Bird Eagle & Putti Hooks. Superb antique coat rack in solid oak. It is really very original, it is a unique piece. It is made from hand-carved oak wood and dates from the late 1800s.

Two large birds, probably eagles, adorn both sides. The three hooks for hanging hats or other, represent two angels playing the trumpet.

It is a high quality carving made by the old French knowledge of cabinet-making. It is massive and very heavy. It is in good condition, despite some wear on the wood. Part of the molding is damaged, but it remains very hard and solid (see last picture). Please take a close look at the photos and see how it is finely hand carved, they are an integral part of the description.
