This vintage Hopi Kachina Doll Circa. 1980's is a large presence of hand carved & hand painted craftsmanship. This colorful, cottonwood root Kwahu is the ruler of the skies & messenger to the heavens.

From his vibrantly colored head, showing a detailed feather ruff to his outstretched arms with wings, he's quite a sight to behold. While a traditionally decorated skirt with detailed sash will keep your interest on the front, you might miss the colorful & moveable back plate finished with a tail fan & accented with yarn on the back. There's even an animal hide hanging from the sash under the tail display.

The dancer measures almost 13" tall including the base & has a 13" wing span. The base is signed Eagle & Ira Puhwhe Fuaya. It also includes the original sell tag. We had this doll professionally restored by Hopi master Kachina Doll maker, Milton Howard. His exquisite pieces of art are exhibited in the finest galleries around the world and are highly sought after!
