Hand Carved PERCHED BALD EAGLE Wall Art Cabin Decor Chainsaw Wood Carving

  

This Carving is 29" high by 9 1/2" wide. This is an original relief wood carving that I designed and carved in my studio. This carving was carved out of one piece of wood. The methods used to achieve the colorations was burning along with brushing on some stains, which brings out the beauty of the wildlife without hiding the beauty of the wood.

PROCESS: The medium used is kiln dried Natural edge Basswood. I drew my original design out on the wood, and cut and roughed it out with saws and grinders , and carved the details with grinders. I then burned all of the coloring on this sculpture with a torch, and finished up with grinders and sanders. I then prepared the wood with a coat of a penetrating oil-base finish, hand brushed on some stains and finally brushed on a top coat of a quality U.

Resistant Spar Urethane with a "Satin" sheen. The back is flat for wall mounting.

On the back I hand carved a flush mount hanger for a nail, screw, etc. To hang it on a wall.
