Antique Hand Carved Eagle From the 1700's Great Americana

  

This is a really exciting item as it is an Eagles from the 1700's. It is wood and stands 18 1/2" tall and are 18 1/2" wide. Mounted on a podium or a large wooden framed entryway. Found in New England but are attributed to the New York City area.

The wood has a dark grain and the saw marks on the back are early. The carving is wonderful and there are still pencil marks from the artist on the back to keep symmetrical when he carved them. It has a center indent with a bar across for hanging. There have been some repairs note pictures but are well done.
