I was told that they believed it to be genuine. If so it is an antique 1784 SCRIMSHAW POWDER HORN, that has been hand carved. It is dated 1784, the year after the American Revolution ended.

It also features a very nice eagle carving. The only question I have is the wooden plug which looks like it may have been put on over the original plug? The finish on this looks to be more recent. I do not know, but I think the horn itself may be the real thing. Please check the pictures, obviously this is the item you will receive.
